Home About Us Products Office Supplies Customer Support Contact Us Login Glossary - P - Points (paper) Points (paper) The designation of point is a thickness designation based upon thousands of an inch.  To calculate points, multiply the caliper thickness (thousandths of an inch) by 1000.  The paper is used for environments requiring extra strength and smoothness.  Most paper designed by points has been calendared to a ‘smooth as glass’ surface.  The maximum point range for the Minolta CF3102 and CF2002 is 10.5 point.  While this substrate is within the tolerance of the engine, constant use, at the upper end of the spectrum such as this, will result in increased service calls. < Back to Glossary Index
